3 Day tours from Marrakech-Essouira-the Atlas Mountains

Our 3 day tour will take you to two cities along the Atlantic coast, Essaouira and Agadir. Both cities
march to different beats. Essaouira has a very relaxed vibe, with Portuguese, French and Berber
fortifications. As you stroll through the Medina, you will see beautiful wooden handicrafts made by
local artisans and many free art galleries. This picturesque city is well-known for its famous blue
fishing boats and the local chefs specialise in cooking freshly caught fish in their restaurants. The
windy beach is popular for water sports and tourists like to ride horses and camels there. Our next
stop is Agadir, a modern city which is known as the Miami of Morocco. After the earthquake of
1960, Agadir was developed. The 16 th century Kasbah (fortress) was mostly destroyed, with only an
arch of an entrance and walls remaining, but you will admire the stunning views of the beach, ocean
and port. You will enjoy the city's vibrant nightlife along La Corniche, which has traditional dancers
and musicians in abundance.
You will also visit Ourika Valley and have mint tea with a Berber family and learn about their
culture. For sports lovers, a quad bike or a dune buggy ride through the mountains can be arranged.
There are also camel rides available and plenty of opportunities to stop along the way to view rug
co-operatives and shops selling pottery and other handcrafted items. You will also have the chance
to hike to the waterfalls (there are 7 waterfalls at 7 levels), so this is definitely a tour for trainers.
Alternatively, you may wish to forgo hiking and have lunch at one of the many restaurants by the
river and admire the Atlas Mountains. Whatever you decide to do here, one thing is for sure, the
beautiful scenery, the flowing river and the waterfalls will awaken your senses.
